Can you drink Kombucha everyday?
We get this question very often: can you drink kombucha everyday? Kombucha is fermented from tea and sugar to give a slight fizzy drink that’s probiotic-rich, with live bacteria and yeasts or “healthy little microbes” that benefit your digestive system.
Even though some of the kombucha’s health benefits are similar to other fermented foods, like yogurt, kimchi or sauerkraut, it has other very specific bioactive compounds that are only unique to kombucha.
Kombucha contains polyphenols which are known to act as strong antioxidants in the body and decrease inflammation, which is the root cause of many diseases and conditions. The fermentation process actually increases the amount of polyphenols.
Apart from polyphenols, Kombucha also provides B vitamins, a handful of essential minerals, organic acids that fight against bacterial growth. They can also promote detoxification by helping the liver get rid of undesired compounds that it has to process.
If it is this good, can you drink kombucha everyday?
So can you drink kombucha everyday?
The answer is yes. Yes you can drink kombucha everyday but the key is the amount of kombucha you drink every day. Everything in moderation. Too much of anything is never good. The Centers for Disease Control recommends up to 350ml daily, which is why our kombucha is packaged in 330ml for you to drink a bottle daily.
However, due to the slight alcohol that is produced by the fermentation, it is not recommended for pregnant women, young children people with certain chronic diseases such as liver or kidney disease or HIV and alcohol dependency.
