  1. Write down your Whys

Be very clear – why are you doing this? Why are you embarking on this weight loss journey? Write it down. It can be something as simple as “I want to look good for my birthday” or “I want to be healthy”

When you have something you’ve set your mind to, trust me it will be the most powerful punch you need when you’re feeling demotivated.

  1. Find your community

Let’s be honest – if you leave it up to my sole discipline to eat right and exercise, I’m not going to last. Maybe for a week or two, but then it only goes downhill. And trust me, I’ve been down this road before (multiple times).

So that’s when a partner / buddy comes in handy. They can help remind you about why you’re on this weight loss journey in the first place AND most importantly, not allowing you to quit so easily.

And don’t just stop at one partner. Keep finding like-minded people who are on this journey with you. The more, the merrier!

  1. Change your mindset

This is important. If you start this weight loss journey with a mindset that it’s gonna be hard. It will be. Your mental health reflects on your physical health. When you’re excited about the new changes on this journey, you’ll start to be more motivated to stick through it.

  1. Treat Yo’ Self!

Reward yourself! If you’ve achieved a milestone (honestly it can be small achievements like eating healthy for a week), you deserve more than just a pat on the back. Go out and enjoy a treat, buy some nice outfit. You deserve it!
