How to lose weight and not gain it back?
HFFP Diet – Going Back in Time
Ever wonder how great it will be like to go back to the time when you are 16 and your metabolism rate is so high that you can eat what you like and don’t put on weight that easily.
The reason why we put on weight more easily as we aged even though we eat the same food is because some of our metabolic cells go to sleep as we aged. Many of the slimming diet in today’s world focuses on getting you to see instant result in losing weight (you could be losing water, muscles or fats) rather than maintaining the weight loss. As such, you go on yo yo-ing in your weight.
What if you focus on the right thing, which is to eat right, eat well and becoming lean rather than losing weight.
A personal story is that I actually gained 4 kg because I gained muscle mass but all my clothes fit loosely as I becomes leaner. The key thing I did was to focus on the right diet (I ate meals that are high in fibre, fats and protein – HFFP diet on a daily basis) and right exercises that helps to activate your metabolism cells that are hibernating and boost the active meatbolic cells to work more effectively.
To increase your metabolic cells naturally and healthily, it is important to get on a right and sustainable HFFP diet. A balanced diet recommended by nutritionists and dieticians consist of 50% carbohydrates, 25% protein and 25% fats and the choice of each of them determines whether you will be able to slim down sustainably.
Carbohydrates
There are generally two types of carbs, namely complex and simple carbs and carbohyrdate is made up of sugar, starch and fibre. Eating carbs that are high in fibre and non refined starch and sugar like cacao, quinoa, vegetables and fruits will help to fill you up and reduce your apetite. On top of that, it also has health benefits such as improved gut health & better digestion.
Protein
Protein is an essential macro nutrients and our body uses them to build, repair tissues as well as make enzymes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Protein are amino acids and there are 9 essential amino acids that our body cannot produce and hence we need to get them from food sources. As such, it is important to eat food that are high in complete protein (contains all 9 essential amino acids). One of the rare plant based complete protein is quinoa. Protein activates metabolism cells, reduce hunger hormones & increase appetite reduction hormones. Additionally, you burn calories when digesting protein which is the reason why a high protein diet will help to activate your metabolic cells and aids in slimming.
Fats
Good fats are fats that are not hydrogenated or processed. Example of good fats will be avocado, sesame oil and coconut oil. Fats slow down digestion rate hence lower glycemic index and they make you feel full, reducing your food intake. A diet made up of good fats has been proven to aid in losing weight.
Commiting to a diet that is high in fibre, protein and fats (HFFP diet) on a long term basis is sustainable and it makes you healthier while making you stay lean. Start your one week routine with our healthy slimming HFFP diet.
