Super Recipe – Maca Coffee Spare Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg spare ribs
Marinade:
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tbsp custard powder
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 200 ml water
  • 200 g corn flour
  • Vegetable oil
Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp maltose
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 100 ml water
  Method:
  1. Mix spare ribs with marinade and leave it for 3 hours, ideally overnight.
  2. Deep fry the spare ribs in hot oil until golden brown and drain.
  3. In a separate pan, add in the and cook for 2 minutes until thickened.
  4. Toss the spare ribs in the sauce till evenly coated.
  5. Dish up, garnish and serve.
