2 simple ways to get rid of the “I LOOK FAT TODAY” feeling
Are you feeling fat or have you really gained fat? Figure out the difference!
How many times have you said this or heard someone saying this:
“I feel really fat”
“I look fat today”
“I look swollen / bloated today :(“
“I’ve been eating too much recently and I’m getting flabby”
The key thing to note when people say these things is that most of the time they’re not actually gaining weight or fat. They simply FEEL fat.
Even if you are just FEELING fat or bloated, albeit around your belly, arms or face, chances are it will make you feel bad about yourselves and lower your confidence levels.
In general, people feel “swollen” because they eat outside food which is high in sodium or drinking lots of alcohol the day before, causing water retention. White rice and noodles also cause them to look bloated (which to many people means – I LOOK fat or I FEEL fat). This is because white rice has been refined and stripped of the outermost and innermost layers of grain, removing most of the fiber, nutrients, and proteins. White rice digests rapidly in your body, creating that cascading effect of increased insulin levels, increased fat storage, and an increased waistline over time. Also, as a refined grain, white rice offers low level of satiety. So you’ll eat it, won’t feel very full, and then eat more.
This often leads to you feeling a lack of confidence that day.
Hence, to get rid of that “look or feel fat” feeling, you can simply:
1) Drink more water or coconut water.
2) Eat whole grains such as quinoa.
