Start 2016, with a "Clean Eating Resolution" to live a healthier and more vibrant year ahead. Clean Eating means a healthier you, and a healthier you means a better you! As the saying goes, "you are what you eat"!

Firstly, clean eating is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change for a better you! It’s about eating whole foods, or "real" foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible. Our natural body deserves natural whole foods that it is familiar with, that way whenever we eat, nutrients and vitamins are to able be absorbed and digested easily without any negative health effects.

Processed food is basically anything that is not in it’s natural form, your canned, microwavable food or any food that has been loaded with sugar and sodium often to preserve it is not REAL FOOD. And nobody who cares for their body should be eating them. However, most often these processed foods are the most conveniently available and extremely tasty due to all the artificial flavourings and chemicals being added.

Personally, I used to love my snacks, instant noodles, convenient drink packs, "health" bars, some of which are even low in calories, you can read here as to why counting calories is not a good way to gauge whether something is healthy. These "foods" used to give me the energy boost and sugar rush I need, not to mention satisfy my cravings. But shortly after, I would feel lethargic, bloated, and worst still – I would crave for more. A vicious cycle I would go through day by day till I got sick and realised it was time for a change.

The first step to clean eating is to eliminate processed food. Try it for 2-3 weeks and you will find yourself feeling more fresh, energised and happier too. Soon, people will start asking why you’re looking so good and glowing from within!
